Feng Shui – The Power of Chi

Posted on 29. Feb, 2012 by in Feng Shui Chi

There is no english translation for chi. The closest english word is energy although this to me never feels as though it describes it adequately. Chi flows through the universe, our world, our immediate environment and within and around ourselves in a constant wave. It enters our home and our bodies and gives us the very essence of being, the sense of feeling alive. Because it is a constant flow it brings about change. Every second, every minute of every day we, our environment, the world and the universe is changing. Although we may feel the same we are a completely different person to the person we were before. Without chi we would stagnate, stay the same and so it is very important that we do what we can to support the natural flow of chi.

In ourselves we try our best to maintain healthy chi by taking part in exercise, eating healthy food, drinking plenty of fluids and by keeping our mind active and mentally stimulated. By eating a balanced diet, being active both physically and mentally and living as generous and as giving a life as we can we help to support the movement of chi through our body in a natural flowing way.

In the same way that we keep our bodies healthy by eating a balanced diet and looking after our physical well being so we need to ensure that the chi in our home is kept healthy. On a basic level this means that our home needs to be kept clean and in good repair, rooms kept tidy and free of clutter and interiors decorated beautifully and stylishly. On a more advanced level we can harmonize and balance chi in our homes to promote positive energy by using Feng Shui.

By using Feng Shui to balance our environment we can help to ensure that the changes in our lives are positive. As we are not the same person we were before so we can decide the person we are going to be in the future. Our hopes and dreams can be realized if we believe and trust in the powerful energy force that surrounds us and nurture chi as it flows through ourselves and our environment.
